The Lousios Series

The Lousios river, also known as Gortynios, is a river in western Arcadia in Peloponnese, Greece that flows through forests. The river took its name from the ancient Greek god Zeus, who according to legend washed at its sources after his birth.

This series of paintings is inspired by the many colours (and shadows) in the surrounding area of Lousios, as he flows through the forest of Gortynia.
